Heights. In the UK, 25% of us are overly afraid of being up high**. |
Many people overcome severe phobias with just one session

"The session we did certainly cured my fear of hospitals. I felt very confident and even waiting to be operated on I was relaxed and in control!"
Take back controlSome people know what caused their phobia. Others have no idea. Whatever triggered it, you stored that frightening memory somewhere in your unconscious so it was prepared to protect you should you face a similar situation in the future. Over time that memory became distorted and your unconscious got overprotective, triggering the fear response when the situation was not threatening.
With hypnosis, it's possible to adjust that memory and reset the unconscious response so you are back in control, with fear only necessary as a healthy, rational response to real danger. And you'll be surprised how easy it can be. " I really do feel lots better about it all thanks to your session” |
Most obscure phobia?
How about being terrified of a single baked bean on a plate. A whole plateful was fine, but a solitary bean triggered the phobia. |
"I know how miserable you are. I suffered with a lifelong phobia of snakes. My fear was so bad that even seeing a picture of one made me start shaking. I'd feel suffocated as if it was round my neck, causing me to run away in terror. I couldn't touch a closed book if I knew there was a snake picture inside. My husband would feel anxious watching TV with me in case a snake appeared which would trigger a panic attack. I once unexpectedly saw a snake in close vicinity and I passed out cold. One session of hypnosis and suddenly I didn't have a snake phobia any more. Don't get me wrong, I'm never going to love them, but I can now happily take the kids into a reptile house and I've even held a snake myself (it was surprisingly warm!)" What is phobia?Fear is a natural reaction designed to keep us safe, an instinct essential to our survival going back to primitive times. When faced with danger, we produce adrenaline and other hormones to help our body prepare for the 'fight or flight' response. But when fear becomes irrational or takes over in non-threatening situations it can be devastating, limiting what we do, where we go, how we live.
People can be phobic about virtually anything and often feel their fear is 'silly' or 'ridiculous'. We understand just how debilitating even the most unusual or unlikely phobias can be and reassure you that you are not alone.
